The spread of the COVID-19 is the most serious global health risk the world has seen in decades. We would like to express solidarity to all who have been affected by the outbreak, and we are deeply grateful to the thousands of healthcare providers who are helping their communities across the globe.
During this challenging time, the health and safety of our employees and customers is of paramount importance to us. As a result of this, XLink has activated our business continuity plan in order to contain the risk of spreading this virus.
I am writing to update you on how we, along with our community of industry partners, are responding to this global crisis.
During times such as these, it is clear that connectivity and communication is critical and that we continue to provide these crucial services effectively to all of our customers. Our networks enable people to trade & help businesses serve their customers. XLink and the 3rd parties we engage with are taking every step to ensure that our network remains resilient during this time, that we have sufficient capacity, and that we continue to offer customers a high level of service.
Over the past week, we have begun proactive testing of our systems and network services to ensure uninterrupted connectivity in the coming weeks. We understand the pressure that the retail and financial services industries is facing, and we would like to assure you that we are available and ready to provide the support needed.
At this stage, 75% of the XLink team is already working remotely. The success of this over the past week is evident in the productivity being upheld, and service levels to our customers remaining high and consistent.
Our field support technicians on a national scale have been equipped with the health and safety gear and measures required to ensure their safety, and importantly too, that of our customers.
As a country, we are all in this together. To succeed in limiting the spread of this pandemic it requires all of us taking collective responsibility. I encourage you to practice the safety protocols available to you online, and to take good care of yourselves and your families.
