XLink continues to support businesses during the 21 day lockdown – 24 March 2020

Over the past week, we have seen the rise in COVID-19 cases across Southern Africa and around the world, and continue to express our solidarity to all who have been affected by the outbreak.

In light of our president’s address to the nation on 23 March, we are in full support of the lockdown taking place from 26 March 2020. XLink is deemed a critical service provider, and as such we confirm that we will remain fully operational throughout this period and ready to support our retail and financial services customers this time.

The health and safety of our employees and customers remain of paramount importance to us. As a result of this, XLink’s business continuity plan remains active in order to contain the risk of spreading this virus.

We understand that connectivity and communication remains critical for our customers, and XLink along with the 3rd parties we engage with are taking every step to ensure that our network remains resilient during this time, that we have sufficient capacity, and that we continue to offer customers who remain trading a high level of service.

Proactive testing of our systems and network services to ensure uninterrupted connectivity will be done on an ongoing basis in the coming weeks.

Most of the XLink team is working remotely and will continue to do so over the coming weeks. The operational teams who are required to work from the office will be doing so on a rotational basis with immediate effect, with strict access control and hygiene measures being implemented to support these teams.

Our field support technicians on a national scale are equipped with sanitizers, gloves and masks to ensure their safety, and importantly too, that of our customers. Permits are also being arranged for these critical resources to carry out their requirements over this time.

As a country, we are all in this together. To succeed in limiting the spread of this pandemic it requires all of us taking collective responsibility. I encourage you to practice the safety protocols available to you online, and to take good care of yourselves and your families.
