1. POWERING UP

  • Connect the ANTENNA turning clockwise.
  • Plug POWER CORD with AC ADAPTOR into the MINILINK.
  • Plug AC ADAPTOR into wallsocket and switch power on at wallsocket.
  • LED LIGHTS on front panel of the MINILINK should begin to flash.

2. GETTING CONNECTED

  • Each CREDIT CARD DEVICE must be connected to the MINILINK using its own cable.
  • On one end of the adaptor cable there will be a clip with a GREY COVER and a sticker indicating the cable type.
  • Plug adaptor cable into either PORT 1 or 2 of the MINILINK using the end with the GREY COVER.
  • Connect other end of the adaptor cable to the BANK CREDIT CARD DEVICE(S).

3. LIGHTS

  • SIM – shines GREEN (primary SIM) – shines RED (secondary SIM).
  • SIG – must shine GREEN or ORANGE.
  • GSM – must flash GREEN.
  • ON – must shine GREEN and shows there is power to the MINILINK.

4. TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Check that the MINILINK has power, the ON lights must shine GREEN.
  • Check that the GSM light is flashing GREEN, if it is flashing red, unplug the power cable, wait 5 seconds and plug in the POWER CORD again. The GSM light should start flashing again after about 40 seconds.
  • Check that the SIG light is shining GREEN or ORANGE.
  • Check that the ANTENNA is screwed in correctly and pointing upwards.
  • Check that the BANK CABLE(S) are securely connected to both the MINILINK and BANK CREDIT CARD DEVICE(S).
  • Check that the LED lights for PORT 1 AND 2 are flashing (only those being used).

  • Plug adaptor cable into either PORT 1, 2 or 3 of the TWINCOM using the end with the GREY COVER.
  • Connect other end of the adaptor cable to the BANK CREDIT CARD DEVICE(S) using the end without the GREY COVER.

3. LIGHTS

  • SIM 1 – shines GREEN.
  • SIM 2 – shines RED.
  • HIST – flashes various colours.
  • SIG – must shine GREEN or ORANGE.
  • GPRS – light must flash GREEN.
  • GSM – must shine GREEN.
  • ON – must shine GREEN and shows there is power to the TWINCOM.

  • Check that the TWINCOM has power, the ON light must shine GREEN.
  • Check that the GPRS light is flashing GREEN, if it is flashing red, unplug the power cable, wait 5 seconds and plug in the POWER CORD again. The GPRS light should start flashing again after about 40 seconds.

  • Each CARD PAYMENT DEVICE(S) must be connected to the LANLINK using its own cable.
  • Plug the ETHERNET CABLE into the ETHERNET PORT of the LANLINK.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to the ETHERNET PORT of the CARD PAYMENT DEVICE(S).
  • To connect more than 1 CARD PAYMENT DEVICE(S), each device must be connected to a switch.
  • The LANLINK should also be connected to the switch.

3. LIGHTS

  • SIM – shines GREEN (primary SIM) – shines RED (secondary SIM)
  • SIG – must shine GREEN or ORANGE
  • GSM – must flash GREEN
  • PWR – must shine GREEN and shows there is power to the LANLINK
  • SEL – button to perform diagnostics or switching the primary SIM to the secondary SIM network

  • Check that the ANTENNA is screwed in correctly and pointing upwards.
  • Check that the ETHERNET CABLE is securely connected to both the LANLINK and CARD PAYMENT DEVICE(S).
  • Check that the LED lights for the ETHERNET PORT are flashing.

  • Plug adaptor cable into the serial ports of the VERSALINK using the end with the GREY COVER.
  • Connect other end of the adaptor cable to the BANK CREDIT CARD DEVICE(S).
  • Plug the ETHERNET cable into the LAN PORT.

3. LIGHTS

  • ON – must shine GREEN to show power to the VERSALINK.
  • ACTIVITY – switches between RED and GREEN and shows NETWORK connectivity.
  • SIM STATUS – shines GREEN when using PRIMARY SIM and RED when using SECONDARY SIM.

4. LED DISPLAY

  • IDLE – indicatesthe VERSALINK is ready to use.
  • HEART BEAT – switches between left and right side.
  • If not, the VERSALINK may be frozen or damaged.
  • 3G, G or E – revolves and signals Network availabilty.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Check that the VERSALINK has power, the ON light must shine GREEN.
  • Check that the SIM STATUS light is shining solid GREEN or RED.
  • Check that the Heart Beat is switching between the left and right side.
  • Check that either 3G, G or E displays at the bottom corner of the LCD screen.
  • Check that the ETHERNET cable is securely connected.

Reboot it? – Remove the power cable from the XLink modem labeled PWR and re-connect after 1 min.
Power it up? – Plug the power supply into the PWR port on the XLink modem and ensure there is power from the wall socket.

Locate the antenna, trace the cable and screw the end onto the modem.
The antenna and modem connections are GOLD in colour for ease of reference.

All XLink cables are labeled by means of a sticker on one end.
This is the end that needs to be connected to your XLink modem.

GPRS/GSM Light:

  • Flashing GREEN, connected to the networks.
  • Flashing RED, disconnected from the network (reboot required).
  • Solid GREEN with ORANGE flickering, XLink modem is currently sending and receiving data.

On Light:

  • Should always be solid GREEN.

Signal Light:

  • Should be GREEN or ORANGE.
  • If RED, ensure your antenna is connected and not damaged.

Ensure the cable is connected to the PWR port.
Ensure there is power from the wall socket.

Reboot your XLink modem and credit card terminal.
Ensure the GPRS/GSM light is flashing GREEN.
Ensure the cable is connected from your XLink modem into your credit card terminal.

Your XLink modem will be connected to your credit card terminal, trace the cables to locate your XLink modem.

On a SILVER barcoded sticker placed at the bottom and side of your XLink modem.

Ensure your GPRS/GSM light is flashing GREEN.
Ensure your signal light is either GREEN or ORANGE.
